Yung Wing was the first Chinese graduate of an American university. For the school that bears his name, we designed a humanistic art system — a Mountain of Wisdom relief at the library entrance, the six Big Questions of a life, a perpetual calendar of values, and original relief manuscripts retelling Yung Wing’s story — making discovery a verb encountered everywhere on campus, where East and West stand in harmony without sameness.
